Major New Artwork at Illum Store completed and soon to open

Steven Scott's major new permanent public lightwork, located on the face of the newly developed Illum's department store in the centre of Copenhagen, has been completed and programmed and is soon to be revealed to the public.

The as yet untitled work, consisting of the complex colour programming of fifty interconnected light spaces, has a compositional structure analogous to that of music - spatial and chromatic themes are stated and then developed in four movements, each exploring different relationships of form, colour and rhythm.

A deep investigation of our perception and experience of colour, the work refers to varied phenomena - the fluid and "impure" colours of nature - the "pure" colours of chromatic theory and harmony - and to the colours of the "sublime".....
