Studio Steven Scott was asked to participate in this year's competition for LAGI, the Land Art Generator Initiative, which required a site specific public art installation, that also generates carbon neutral electricity and/or drinking water, for the city of Santa Monica in California.
Scott's proposal for this major light art and solar power installation, developed in collaboration with Matteo Melioli and BDLA Architects of London, and in consultation with XCO2Energy, has been selected for a shortlist of 10, out of 900 submissions.
The project has also been selected for the LAGI 2016 publication, Powering Places, which will be published by Prestel in October of this year.
