Seventy Seven Revisited

Thursday, October 31, 2013

The work is now complete on the major renovation of Seventy Seven, the installation that inhabits the vast atrium of the Deloitte headquarters in Copenhagen.

After eight years of continuous illumination it was decided to revisit the entire artwork and replace all the LED lightsources. This entailed the construction of a complex scaffolding structure within the atrium to provide access to each of the 77 light spaces over six floor levels. This work was carried out over the last month and the renovated light-work was then rebalanced and reprogrammed by Steven Scott earlier this week.

After witnessing this major intervention into their workspace, the staff at Deloitte can now enjoy the ever more powerful presence of this significant piece of light art.

Some images documenting the renovation process are posted in the 'installations' section of this site
